Pastor to Pastor

Posted on February 1st, 2010.

It is a privilege to go through life with people and lead them to Christ. It is also a privilege to help as many as possible become more like Jesus through intentional discipleship. Many times we focus on one of these aspects while seemingly ignoring the other.

Remember, non-discipleship cost much more than discipleship in the end.  Yes, it is more “fun” to lead someone to Christ than to help them grow in Christ.  Yes, anyone who has discipled someone will tell you that it takes time and a lot of work to help someone (even ourselves) grow deeper in living for Jesus.  Growing relationships always cost something.  Look at the outcome Jesus looked for:  fruit.

Helping others to be formed into the likeness of Jesus Christ – IT IS A PRIVILEGE!
